Citizen Science 2023: Students will arrive on Tuesday January 10, 2023.  Mandatory opening sessions will be held on Wednesday January 11, and classes begin 9:00am Thursday, January 12 and continue through end of day Thursday, January 26, 2023.

Dining during Citizen Science

  • On regular class days, including Saturday 14-January and Monday 16-January for the MLK Day of Engagement
    "Regular" Meal times (Kline) starting with lunch on Tuesday 10-January
    • Breakfast:  8:00-10:00am
    • Lunch: 11:00-2:30pm
    • Dinner: 5:00-8:00pm*

    *Dinner will begin at 4:00pm on Monday 23-January to accommodate the mandatory evening event and Thursday 26-January in support of the end ofthe Citizen Science program at 4:00pm

    Please note: Parkhurst determines if Bard Bucks or meal swaps are available during Citizen Science
     
  • On the three "Weekend Days" 
    We have three "weekend" days during Citizen Science.
    1. Sunday 15-January
    2. Saturday 21-January
    3. Sunday 22-January
    Kline will be operating on their Brunch/Dinner Schedule on those days.
    • Brunch 10:00am-2:00pm
    • Dinner 5:00-8:00pm

Attendance Policy

Attendance and active participation at all Citizen Science classes and speaker events is mandatory for successful completion of the program.  Late arrivals or missed classes may result in a grade of unsatisfactory for the program, and/or academic probation and the student will need to repeat the full program the following January.  Citizen Science is a mandatory requirement for graduation. 

Campus Life During Citizen Science

Campus services may operate on a different schedule during Citizen Science.

  • Arrival Day Transportation (click here)
    Transportation is provided from the local train stations to campus on Arrival Day, 10-January 2023.
  • Shuttle Schedule
    The shuttle also runs on a modified schedule during Citizen Science.  Please check the transportation website for details,
  • Health Services (click here)
    Due to the lower number of students on campus during Citizen Science, be sure you check the Health Services website for their January hours.
