Computing Rotation

How can we discover the cause of an outbreak?
How does vaccination influence disease transmission?

Computer modeling, bioinformatics, and other computer-based approaches are tremendously important tools that provide scientists the means to investigate phenomena that would otherwise be untestable. As a result, they have become irreplaceable to scientists, and their predictive strengths have made them invaluable in our lives. During the computing rotation, students will use these tools to explore societal topics such as the criminalization of HIV transmission and strategies for the deployment of vaccines. A variety of computing tools will be employed, demonstrating the breadth of their applications in scientific inquiry.
